A ‘Peru Hop’ bus down the coast from Lima to Arequipa, with some gorgeous stops along the way. Who needs to go to Machu Picchu anyway? And then onwards towards the land border with Chile – a little more intrepid…
A great couple of days at an Eco-Lodge (whatever that might be) deep in the Amazon rainforest. Not as teeming with wildlife as Galapagos, but far more biodiverse, and the immense efforts to preserve the precious eco-system are incredible to see…
South America’s culinary capital, a city where you can get prescription-only drugs in almost any pharmacy, utter chaos but with corners of beauty. `Not our favourite city ever but we did find Paddington in Peru!…

A lovely old town in a modern metropolis where the wealthy bank and register their super-yachts, and the amazing Panama Canal. A great stopover city en-route to Galapagos and it gave Debbie ideas that Panama is worthy of further exploration in the dry season…
